Connect your knowledge vault

This address connects an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to the knowledge vault in your GitHub repositories, of your own account or of an organisation. It is not a website to browse.

1. Install the GitHub App

Choose your personal account or an organisation, and the repositories Major Vault may read.

2. Wait until we switch it on

We review every new installation and switch it on by hand, usually within 24 hours. After the installation, GitHub sends you to its status page. Bookmark it: once your installation is on, that page shows your address and the buttons that add it.

3. Add it to your assistant

Your address is https://vault.majortom.ai/your-name, with the name we give your installation when we switch it on.

By hand

Add a custom connector named Major Vault with your address. In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, custom connectors need developer mode. No client ID or secret is needed.

The server speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and signs in with OAuth 2.1, registering the client by itself, so any MCP client that handles sign-in works.

4. Sign in

The first time, you confirm on a page from this address, then on GitHub. The assistant can then read and write only where you yourself can.
